Every year on Slipper Day, South Africans trade their shoes for slippers – not for comfort (although that’s a bonus perk!), but to help make a heart-warming difference. This year, Slipper Day takes place on Friday, 30 May 2025, and you can already buy your sticker now with Zapper.
We’ve been proud to work with Reach for a Dream for a few years now, digitising their “Slipper Day” stickers and making raising money for their worthy cause easier for everyone. Who is Reach for a Dream?
For over 35 years, Reach for a Dream has brought hope and precious memories to children facing life-threatening illnesses.
From meeting a personal hero to simply spending a day free from hospitals and treatments, the foundation grants dreams that remind kids to keep believing in the impossible.
What is Slipper Day?
Slipper Day is Reach for a Dream’s biggest annual fundraiser – and one of the easiest ways for everyday South Africans to make a tangible difference.
All you have to do is buy a virtual sticker for only R20 on the Zapper app. Then, don your comfiest slippers on 30 May, whether you’re heading into a meeting, shopping up a storm, or dropping the kids at school.
Besides, this day is usually a cold one! So you’re going to be super grateful for those fluffy slippers and your free coffee to warm you up.

Here’s how it works:
1. Get your virtual Slipper Day sticker using the Zapper app for just R20. You can scan the QR code below with your Zapper app QR/barcode scanner to go straight to payment. Or, if you’re viewing this on your phone, tap here to buy.
2. Check your email for your Payment Confirmation – this serves as your virtual sticker, and you will also get a Zapper voucher in your app for the coffee
3. Slip on your slippers and visit a participating Wimpy on Friday, 30 May 2025
4. Scan your bill with Zapper to redeem your FREE regular Famous Wimpy Coffee (or hot chocolate for kids under 12) – The voucher is automatically applied

Why slippers?
